Kim is an Allied member of ASID (American Society of Interior Design), and a member of IIDA (International Interior Design Association). Kim comes to Collaborate Design Studio with a passion for Interior Design and a belief that one of the most important aspects of design process is building relationships with her clients. It is through these relationships that she can interpret a client’s needs and wishes.
And as a result of the trust established, Kim creates a space that is not only beautifully designed, but also a reflection of the client’s personal style.
Although most of her work has been in the field of residential interiors, Kim has worked closely with architects and builders on a number of commercial projects, including most recently, veterinary clinics, medical offices and jewelry stores.
Kim’s diverse background also includes her career as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse, with a focus on the developmental needs for children. This love for children has enabled her to design interior spaces from infants to teens that will meet their ever changing needs and desires. Most recently, Kim was instrumental in creating a fantasy bedroom suite for a chronically ill 15 year old girl.
Prior to obtaining a degree in Interior Design, Kim worked for a number of years as a buyer for a small gift and home furnishings shop. She has traveled to furniture shows from coast to coast, which enabled her to understand and appreciate the different design styles that can be found in many parts of the country.
From the design concepts through completion, Kim employs design solutions that are livable and inviting, whether the client’s style is traditional, contemporary, or transitional. As a designer, Kim is able to exercise her creativity and enjoy the challenges in this ever changing field.
