The Design Process

"Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures."   -Henry Ward Beecher

Initial Consultation

1) An initial consultation is scheduled. This enables the client to meet us, see what we have to offer, and review their needs and desires concerning the interior design and space planning of their interior design project. At this time, schedules and fees will also be discussed. It is very important that the client feels comfortable with the firm. We believe that the designer/client relationship is one that requires trust and confidence, and we take pride in making every effort to maintain these core values.

2) Once we come to an agreement regarding fees and scheduling the contract is signed for our professional services.

3) The space is surveyed, photographed and measured. We will schedule to meet with architects and/or builders if applicable. We also inventory and photograph existing furnishings to be retained in the project.

4) Preliminary furniture floor plans are prepared, and issues regarding specialty built-ins, cabinetry and architectural details for interior spaces are reviewed.

5) Preliminary furniture and finishes are selected.

6) For the initial overall presentation, the designer has gathered information and potential options for furnishings, fixtures, finishes, color choices and fabrics. Many samples and photos may be shown at this time so the client will have a better understanding of the direction in which their project is headed. This presentation leads to additional meetings until the designer and client have selected all of the components.

7) Upon approval from the client, deposits are collected, contractors are scheduled and products are ordered. Our firm will oversee the project through to completion to ensure our client's satisfaction.

Note: The fees for services are based on a signed agreement set after the initial project review. Any additional work and/or projects requested by the client that are not described within the original contract will be billed separately.
